Metro Nashville closes streets around the arena starting the afternoon of the show, security checkpoints go up two blocks out in every direction, and rideshare pickup zones get pushed farther from venue entrances each year as the footprint grows. If you're staying downtown or flying into BNA that week, the plan you'd normally use to get around doesn't hold up.
Where the delays actually happen
The worst congestion isn't at the arena itself, it's on the approach streets: Demonbreun, 5th Avenue South, and the on-ramps feeding I-40 westbound in the late afternoon as production crews, VIP arrivals, and fan crowds all move through the same few blocks within an hour of each other.
